Hey, El Paso! Get ready for a brand-new challenge — the Eagle at Night Aquathlon. Mark your calendars for July 12, 2025 at 5:00 PM, and come out to Ascarate Park for an exciting evening of multisport action.

Race Details:

The Eagle at Night Aquathlon kicks off with a 400-meter swim in the stunning 50-meter outdoor pool at Ascarate Park. Once you’ve conquered the water, it’s time to hit the pavement for a 5K run around Ascarate Park and along the Playa Drain Trail, finishing up at the Ascarate Golf Course.

This exhilarating event combines the thrill of swimming and running in a dynamic race format that’s perfect for athletes of all levels. Whether you’re a seasoned competitor or new to multisport events, the Eagle at Night Aquathlon is a fantastic way to challenge yourself and experience El Paso in a whole new way.

What is an Aquathlon?

An Aquathlon is a multisport race that combines swimming and running. The Eagle at Night Aquathlon features two segments: the swim and the run. It’s a great opportunity to test your endurance, speed, and stamina in a fun, competitive setting.

RACE INFO

SWAG - Participants will receive a race shirt, swim cap, run bibs, finisher medal, and athlete bag!  Participants will also receive post-race snacks and drinks, an interactive race day Expo, chip timing, and more! 

PACKET PICKUP

  • Thursday, July 10, 2025, 4pm - 7pm, Location El Paso Swim and Tennis Club, 2510 N. Saint Vrain, EPTX  79902.

  • Friday, July 11, 2025, 5pm - 8pm, Location to be determined.

Packets - Every athlete must pick up this or her own race packet.  Packet pick up will require photo proof of identity (driver's license, passport, etc.)

USA TRIATHLON (USAT) MEMBERSHIP

Eagle at Night Aquathlon is USAT Sanctioned; USAT rules apply.  All athletes must be members of USA Triathlon to compete.  If you do not have an annual USA Triathlon membership, you can purchase a one-event membership during registration.  The cost is $13 for individuals and $10 for youth ages 6-11 years of age.  

The 5K race does not require a USA Triathlon membership however, USAT rules apply.

AGE GROUP / ATHENAS / CLYDESDALES

Women who weigh 165 lbs. or more can compete against other women in their age group and against other women who weigh 165 lbs. or more (Athenas).  Women who weigh under 165 lbs. do not qualify to race in the Athena division.

Men who weigh 220 lbs. or more can compete against other men in their age group and against other men who weigh 220 lbs. or more (Clydesdales).  Men who weigh under 220 lbs. do no qualify to race in the Clydesdale division.

During the registration process you will be able to check a box if you wish to be identified as a Athena or Clydesdale athlete. 

MINIMUM AGE

The minimum age for youth competition is 6 years of age.As of December 31,2025.

RELAYS

This race will not have relay teams.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS

Entry fees are non-refundable and may not be transferred to another person. 

MILITARY DISCOUNT

Active military and reserves receive $5 off online registration with coupon code USA25.   Must show military ID at packet pick up; may not be used with any other discount.

SWIM TIME UPDATES

All individual participants will be assigned start times based on their swim times.  Athletes must update their swim times by July 7, 2025, 11:00pm, to be included in the first wave of participants.  

NOTE

Eagle at Night is a USAT Sanctioned event.  Based on the USA Triathlon 2025 Multisport Competition Rules, pets, strollers, roller blades, and/or roller skates are not allowed on the race course (swim, run).
